Most M2 vehicles are unarmed, but certain models within the US Army were equipped with 12.7 mm (.50 caliber) Browning M2HB machine guns. The maximum speed of the M2 is 72 km/h.
The M2 was designed by the Dodge company upon the United States entering into World War II as a suitable armored personnel carrier that combined the manouverability of a wheeled truck and the terrain traversing capabilities of a tracked vehicle. Much of the design was based on the already existing German SdKfz 251 half-track. The M2 saw extensive service throughout the war in Europe, Africa, and the Pacific.
The M2 Half-Track only appears once on a multiplayer map in Hidden & Dangerous 2.
