|KwK 36 L/45|
The KwK 36 was originally converted from the PaK 36 anti-tank gun. It's caliber is 37 mm and it is primarily used on the Panzer III medium tank. This light weight weapon is ideal for this kind of tank, and is effective against both armored vehicles and infantry.
Following the development of the Panzer III design, Germany required a suitable tank cannon for the vehicle. The PaK 36 anti-tank gun was specified to be converted to a tank cannon, and proved to be highly successful. The KwK 36 L/45 remained in service with German armored units throughout the war, and was the primary armament for the Panzer III until being replaced by the heavier 50 mm and 75 mm cannons.
The KwK 36 first appears during Operation Nomad - Spaghetti Airport. It is mounted in the turret gun position of the Panzer III tank that arrives with the Italian reinforcements following the attack on the Abn-Sin-Oan Airport. The KwK 36 also appears during the following mission, also mounted in the turret position of a German Panzer III, as weel as in the turret of a destroyed Panzer III, both near the main part of the destroyed German convoy.
- The KwK 36, though a smaller caliber, has the same range and effect as all other German tank cannons.
